How do I access Dermatology Patient Education handouts?

Dermatology Patient Education is accessible via tablets, computers and mobile devices. Access to content requires an annual subscription. Individuals can subscribe via Group practices with over 12 dermatologists and institutions can subscribe by calling the AAD Member Resource Center at 866.503.7546. How do I login?

Individual users log in using their AAD ID and password—if you are a member of the AAD, your AAD login (AADID or e-mail address) and password are the same as for those sites. Institutional/practice-based subscribers can be automatically authenticated by IP address or referring URL; depending on the administrator. When you are authenticated, the welcome in the upper right will display your name or institution’s name. Institutional/practice-based subscribers can also set up a login to access remotely by opening the Sign In widget in the upper right corner and logging in to an existing AAD account or creating a new one.

How do I customize handouts?

Practice information, standard visit notes, and special instructions per patient can be added to each patient handout via a cover sheet.

  1. Click on “Custom Handout” button located on the right-hand side underneath the title.
  2. A new window will open up with two boxes. The first box is for “standard comments.” After you have entered your notes, click on “Save My Comments” to save this text. The second box is for a “personalized message,” however, this information is not saved.
  3. In the bottom right-hand corner is an area to enter in “Practice info:” – click on the “Edit” button to modify this information.
  4. Click “Open Customized Handout” and a PDF of the handout will open, with a new first page containing your practice information and comments.
